Last June 2018 the II Meeting of Shakeholders of ADVANTAGE JA, took place in Valencia (Spain), with the slogan “Attention to fragility, a challenge and an opportunity for our society”.
ADVANTAGE JA, is the first common initiative on the prevention of frailty in Europe. It will contribute to a more homogeneous approach to frailty, improving its screening, diagnosis, prevention and treatment, as well as the reform of socio-health systems and reorienting priorities in European training and research programs towards the prevention of disability.
A Panel of Experts in order to produce a common conceptual framework for further work and for future social-health policy recommendations have met in this day to give greater visibility to the phenomenon of frailty, to emphasize its importance, review the various actions that are taking place at this time to address this phenomenon in our country, and present different opportunities for improvement in the management of the same.
Emphasis has been placed on the role of informal carers and caregivers of fragile people, as well as on the application of new biomedical and biomechanical technologies in order to improve the detection of frailty and the improvement of the quality of life of people who suffer it.
