The next 15 and 16 February 2018, the University Hospital of Getafe, in collaboration with the Health Research Institute of this Hospital, will give the XXX Course of Arrhythmias and Clinical Electrophysiology.
The organizing committee of the course is made up of the doctors D. Joaquín J. Alonso Martín (Head of the Cardiology Service of the Hospital U. de Getafe) and D. Francisco García-Cosío, (Prof. Emérito UEM / Hospital U. de Getafe) . The scientific committee is integrated by Dr. Agustín Pastor Fuentes and Dr. Ambrosio Núñez Angulo (Cardiology Service of the U. de Getafe Hospital).
In this new appointment it’s proposed to pay tribute to this clinical tool that never ages: the ECG. Whether in a clinical consultation, during a stress test, a prolonged monitoring or an electrophysiological study, the ECG is a basic reference tool and absolutely essential for clinical decision making. Suffice it to say that, in these times in which electrophysiological studies of atrial fibrillation are one of the most frequent applications of electrophysiology laboratories, the diagnosis of atrial fibrillation is still based on the ECG.
With this program we pretend to bring the laboratory to the clinic, starting from the ECG, in an attempt to provide clinicians with the diagnosis and current therapeutic approach of arrhythmias and arrhythmogenic heart disease in a complex multidisciplinary panorama, in which the correct indication of the powerful diagnostic and therapeutic resources available is fundamental for the patient.
As in previous calls, the theoretical expositions will be supported in the presentation of clinical cases of real life, chosen for their teaching value.
