Quality: UNE 166002

In 2014, the Viceconsejera de Ordenación Sanitaria e Infraestructuras de la Comunidad (Vice-Councillor for Health Care Management and Infrastructure of the Autonomous Community of Madrid), Belén Prado, awarded Hospital Universitario de Getafe the Quality Certificate for Standard UNE 166002 for management of Research, Development, and Innovation (R&D&i).

Hospital Universitario de Getafe is the first hospital in the region to receive this certificate. The UNE 166002 standard provides a framework for the standardization of R&D&i to ensure that all relevant activities are addressed by technological means.

The certificate was obtained by defining and implementing an R&D&i policy via which management transmitted the importance of R&D&i activities to the organization.

Furthermore, technological prediction and monitoring tools were set up to determine, analyze, and study the development of high-impact technologies. The tools included the following: a system for identifying and analyzing problems and opportunities; a system for selecting ideas; a system for planning and monitoring the project portfolio; and a system for transfer of technology.
